Worth Lee Byrd Jr., 72, passed away Friday, January 13, 2023 at Betsy Johnson Hospital in Dunn. Lee was born in Lee County, the son of Worth Lee Byrd, Sr. and Jewel Ennis Byrd. Lee was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He loved God, his family, his church and his community. He faced many obstacles in his life but taught us all many wonderful life lessons about love and perseverance. He was fortunate to grow up in a community that loved and embraced him. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Worth and Jewel Byrd and his older brother, Ronnie Godwin.

He is survived by his sister, Kathy Byrd and her husband David, sister- in -law, Paulette Benton, Nieces, Carol Ann Sherman(Allen), Valerie Godwin, Natalie Brozy(Kirk), Sarah Turpin(April), Nephew, Allen Lewis(Kari) and great nieces and nephew, Sarah Sherman, Jewelee, Andi, Owen and Mary Scarlett Turpin, and Finlee Lewis.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 on Tuesday, January 17 at Lillington Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Selman officiating. Burial will follow in Harnett Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 - 1:45  and other times at the home of David and Kathy Byrd.
