Wade Cabe

Mr. Wade Newton Cabe, 77, of Kipling passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington. He was born in Macon County, NC, the son of the late Mell Johnny and Mary Elizabeth Henry Cabe. Wade was also preceded in death by his wife, Doris Cabe and daughter, Pamela Lynn Rivers. He graduated from Franklin High School and Blanton’s Business College with a degree in Traffic Management. Wade worked and retired from Overnite Transportation Company after 36 years of service. After retiring, he worked as a part-time rural carrier for the United States Postal Service. Wade was an active member of Kipling United Methodist Church. He was an avid NASCAR fan particularly Dale Earnhardt, Sr.

Wade is survived by 2 sons, Shane Cabe of Kipling and Frankie O. Rhem (Cynthia Breece) of Fuquay-Varina; son-in-law, Rev. Robert Rivers of Moncks Corner, SC; 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; brother, Wilbur Cabe (Ann) of Statesville; niece, Becky Cabe Butler (Linc) and nephew Jakie Cabe.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Kipling United Methodist Church with Rev. Melinda Ivey and Rev. Robert Rivers officiating. Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery in Kipling. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday from 2:00-3:00 PM.
