Virginia Medel Stern

Virginia Medel Stern, 83, of Fuquay-Varina, NC, formerly of Dallas Fort Worth, TX, died Sunday, December 18, 2022 at WakeMed Raleigh Hospital.   

Virginia was born September 19, 1939 in the Philippines to the late Susana and Eusebio Medel.  She was a graduate of Far Eastern University in the Philippines and worked as loan officer in the banking industry.   

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marlyn Stern; and sister, Anita Whitley.  

Virginia is survived by her sisters, Luz Mendoza, and Ofelia Hoyle; nieces, Tes Blosch, Michelle Feliciano, and Marie Mendoza; nephews, Steven Hoyle, Christopher Hoyle, James Mendoza, and Alenjandro Mendoza, Jr.   

A Funeral Mass will be held 11am Friday, December 23, 2022 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 1005 Wilbon Rd., Fuquay-Varina, 27526.  Burial will follow the service at Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Angier.  The family will receive friends 4pm – 6pm Thursday, December 22, 2022 at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home, 1310 S. Main Street, Lillington, NC 27546.
