Vickie Spoon Teeter

Vickie Spoon Teeter, 72, of Lillington, passed away, Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington, NC.  

Vickie was born June 1, 1951 in Charlotte, NC to the late Vernon and Catherine “Cat” Spoon.  She was a 1969 graduate of Sun Valley High School in Monroe, NC.  Vickie was a devoted US Air Force wife, mother, sister, and daughter. 

Vickie made every house a home with each new base transfer. She worked overnight so that she could be with her husband and children, seeing them off in the mornings and having meals prepared in the evenings.  She sacrificed sleep, time, and even her own happiness at times to provide all the comforts of home and a secure family life. 

In her career as a caretaker, she worked tirelessly to care for her patients and ensure their comfort. Often times she would return to work off duty to visit with patients that didn’t have families of their own. 

Vickie lived life on her own terms, loved Jesus, and never wavered in her devotion to God or her loved ones.  She will be dearly missed and forever loved. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Randall Teeter; and brother, Randy Wayne Spoon. 

Vickie is survived by her husband, Fred Matthews; daughter, Julie Teeter and wife, Rachael Goff; son, Jason Howard Teeter and wife, Eileen; sister, Norma Pilkington and husband, Jerry; brother, Rick Spoon and wife, Lynn; grandchildren, Tristen Teeter, Ava Teeter, Keeley Teeter, and Raylee Crum. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Michael J. Fox Parkinson Foundation, or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
