Troy C. Armstrong

Mr. Troy C. Armstrong, 80, of Coats, formerly of Charlotte, NC, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, February 17, 2026, surrounded by his family, at Emerald Health and Rehabilitation in Lillington.

Troy was born March 21, 1945, in Gaston County, NC, the son of the late James and Roxie Armstrong. In addition to his parents, Troy was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Armstrong and brother, Jerry Armstrong. He worked for Delta Airlines and retired after many years of service. Troy was an avid golfer and spent many days fishing at the coast. Following a medical event in 2023, he moved near family, accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior, and enjoyed making precious memories with his grandchildren.       

Troy is survived by his devoted son, Jeff Armstrong and wife, Beth; loving grandchildren, Anna Elizabeth and Jack Jeffrey; brother, Roy Armstrong of Belmont; and his dear golden retriever, Angel.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 3pm Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church, 4440 Piney Grove Rd, Angier, NC 27501 with Rev. Dr. Brad Lee officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service and other times at the home of Jeff and Beth Armstrong.
