Tony Earl Rogers

Mr. Tony Earl Rogers, 58, of Lillington passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at his home. He was born in Lee County, the son of the late Donald Earl Rogers and Dianne O’Quinn Estes. In addition to his father, Tony was preceded in death by his stepmother, Mary Louise Rogers and stepsister, Sarah (Libby) Howard.

Tony drove a truck locally and long-distance trips for over 30 years. He also owned and operated a decorative concrete company for 10 years.  Tony loved deep sea fishing and trips to the beach with his wife and kids. He also enjoyed building model cars and ships. Tony dabbled in modeling and acting in his mid 30’s and early 40’s, which he really enjoyed. He got to meet many new people and had many exciting adventures. He played various characters from a detective, mysterious supernatural character and even a zombie who did not realize he was a zombie. He carried his family and friends into the field of independent acting with everyone having a blast watching, helping, and even participating in the adventures. He had a love for movies, and this brought him closer to something he loved dearly. Tony loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.

Tony is survived by his wife, Katrina Coggins Rogers of the home, son, Matthew E. Rogers and Candace Wilson of Sanford, daughter, Tonia D. Ailerson and husband Kurt of Sanford; mother, Dianne O’Quinn Estes and husband James of Sanford; 3 grandchildren, Lexie Ailerson, Erin Ailerson, Ruby Rogers; brother, Phil Rogers of Lillington; stepbrother, Bobby Butler, Ricky Dickmeyer and wife, Tammy; stepsisters, Jeana Crawford, Angela Adcock, Denise Natty, Christy Barker; many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home in Lillington. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 2:00 PM with Rev. James Estes officiating. Burial will follow in Rogers Family Cemetery in Lillington.
