Susan Wade Ashworth

Ms. Susan Wade Ashworth, 51, of Lillington, passed away on December 24, 2024, at her home. She was the daughter of the late John Wade Ashworth and Janice Harrington Ashworth.

Susan graduated from Cape Fear Christian Academy in 1991, East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in education from Campbell University in 2008. Susan taught first grade at Overhills Elementary School. She was an active member of Lillington Presbyterian Church, where she currently served as an Elder on the church Session. Susan enjoyed her career as an educator, and she loved her students.

Susan is survived by her mother, Janice Harrington Ashworth; sister, Janice Ashworth Grimes (Kenny); niece, Heather Mason (Brian); uncles, Scott Ashworth (Judy), David Harrington (Diane), John S. Harrington (Setsuko) and great aunt, Virginia Harrington.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 30, 2024, at Lillington Presbyterian Church with Rev. Meg Lindsay Dudley officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
