Stanley Charles Shimkus

Stanley Charles Shimkus 84, of Lillington, NC passed away on December 27, 2025, at Central Harnett Hospital. He was born July 20, 1941, in Kearny, New Jersey, to Stanley and Ethel Shimkus. In addition to his parents, Stanley was preceded in death by son Stanley Anthony Shimkus and grandson Victor A. Villalta.

Growing up in New Jersey he met his wife and raised their family together. Stanley was always a caring and loving man to his family and friends. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and National Guard for many years. Stanley also worked for HJ Heinz in Harrison from 1969-1996 and then from 1996 to 2003 in Mechanicsburg, PA as a DC manager.  In 2023 they moved to Lillington, North Carolina to be closer to family. Stanley enjoyed watching sports, making memories with his children, grandkids and great grandkids.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Mary A. Shimkus; daughter Laura A. Martone and husband Dave; grandson Ryan Villalta and wife Heather; great-grandchildren Brynne, Mason, Landon, Laylah, Sophia, Ryan, and Benjamin.

A graveside service will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Lyndhurst, New Jersey at a later date. Mulligan Funeral Home will be assisting the family in New Jersey.
