Samuel E. Neely, Jr.

Samuel E. Neely, Jr., 71, of Lillington, passed away, Monday, September 9, 2024 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC. 

Sam was born October 25, 1952 in Hollywood, Florida to the late Samuel E. Neely, Sr. and Marian V. Smith Neely.  He was a veteran of the US Army retiring with over 21 years of service.  Sam was Senior JROTC Instructor at Hallandale High School in Hallandale, FL.  He was a graduate of Liberty University.        

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Doreen Neely; daughters, Monique Neely Black, Marcia Neely Hall, Melisa Neely Ragins, Wonona Langford French; sons, Stephen T. Langford, Dante C. Hall, Samuel E. Neely, III, and Michael Neely; eighteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; brother, Artis Neely; sisters, Donna Neely Tolbert, Beverly Neely Davis, Sharon A. Neely, Roberta Neely Horsley and  Shayna Duncan.      

A graveside service will be held 10 AM Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Sandhills State Veteran’s Cemetery, Spring Lake, NC.
