SGT. Major Phillip Eugene Redman US Army Retired, 88, of Lillington passed away on November 6, 2021. He was born January 22, 1933, in Surry County, the son of the late Odes and Gatrina Redman. Phillip served his country in the US Army for 24 years achieving the rank of Sergeant Major retiring in Lillington to own a Western Auto for 10 years.
Phillip is survived by his wife La’ Rue of 67 years, 3 sons and their wives, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
Friends are invited to visit O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, between the hours of 9:00 AM and Noon to pay their respects to Mr. Redman. The family will not be present during this time. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Westview Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Parsons officiating. The public is invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Harmony Baptist Church, in care of Kathy Raynor, 509 W. Killegrey St., Lillington, NC 27546.
