Ruth Bouldin Gill, 75, of Raleigh, passed away on July 19, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Avis Keene Bouldin, and her sisters, Lillian, Jane, and Bonnie.  She is survived by her son, Cyrus Gill and his wife, Jennifer; her beloved grandchildren, Carson and Elizabeth “Betty”; her sister, Sarah Webb; her cousin, Mary Hawes; her aunt, Mary Keene; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

After graduating as valedictorian of Buies Creek High School, Ruth earned a degree in education from Campbell University.  She taught fourth grade in Lillington, North Carolina, before relocating to Raleigh to help manage the family’s businesses.

Ruth led with love and held a special place in the hearts of her family, friends, customers, and employees.  She was strong yet warm, quick-witted, and generous in extending grace to others. She forgave easily, looked beyond the surface of a problem, and had a gift for understanding what someone truly needed.  She instilled in her son a strong conscience, a respect for hard work, and the importance of treating others as one would want to be treated.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Ruth was immensely proud of Carson’s service in the United States Air Force.  She treasured sharing tea parties with Betty, carrying on a favorite tradition from her own childhood.

Ruth was an avid reader who especially enjoyed crime and suspense novels.  She appreciated a great cup of coffee and had a gift for preparing comforting, home-cooked meals.

Although chronic pain and other health challenges limited her activities, particularly in her later years, Ruth continued to enjoy visits from those closest to her.  She never sought the spotlight, but her influence was lasting.  She leaves a legacy of warmth, kindness, resilience, generosity, humor, and grace.

Ruth will be missed and laid to rest at Buies Creek Cemetery in a private family ceremony.  The family is grateful for the thoughts, prayers, visits, and kind memories shared as they celebrate her life.
