Mr. Russell R. Yunker, 87, of Mamers, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2020, at the Reid Heart Center surrounded by his 3 granddaughters, which he referred to as Papa’s 3 angels (Christy, Lisa, and Amy).
Russell served in the US Army. After his honorable discharge, he went to work with the Roberts Company where he retired from after 38 years of service. He also was a former logger and dairy farmer.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at 3 pm at Westview Cemetery in Lillington with military honors.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; his daughter, Connie; son, Gary; mother, Marie; father, Bill Tourville; sister, Gerry Eaton; brothers, Leroy Tourville and Bobby Tourville; and sister-in-law, Judy Tourville.
Russell is survived by his sons, Tony Lynn Yunker and David Yunker (Ellen); fostered daughter, Judy Yunker; his granddaughters, Christy Patten (Kenny), Lisa McKoy (Anthony), Amy Honeycutt (Tim), Melissa James, and Michelle Yunker; 13 great-grandchildren, Katlynn, Darian, Macey, Malerie, Alex, Emma, Dylan, Alayna, Jaden, Brianna, Austin, Tyler, and Gregory; bonus great-grandson, Andres; and three brothers, Rolland Yunker and wife, Louise, of Centura, WI, Richard Tourville and wife, Faye, of Las Vegas, and Eugene Tourville and wife, Mary, of Centura, WI.
The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
