Ruby T. Dickens

Mrs. Ruby T. Dickens, 85, of Lillington passed away Monday, September 30, 2024, at Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington. She was born in Lee County, the daughter of the late Henderson and Bessie Angel Thomas. In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Malcom Dickens, Jr. and brother, Billy Thomas. Ruby was a member of Baptist Chapel Church in Sanford, where she enjoyed working the children in the nursery as her health allowed. She loved to cook, especially homemade banana pudding. Ruby also enjoyed Saturday shopping trips with Sandra, cutting grass and cleaning house.  She will be missed by her family and friends.

Ruby is survived by her son, Tony Dickens and wife, Cathy Adcock Dickens of Lillington; step-grandson, Brandon Taylor and wife Michelle Taylor of Greensboro; fur baby, Jake of the home and sister-in-law, Bonnie Thomas of Broadway. 

The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:45 PM Friday, October 4, 2024, at Baptist Chapel Church in Sanford. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Alex Smith and Pastor George Stallings officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
