Roy Lee Wilkins

Roy Lee Wilkins, 69, of Lillington, passed away, Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington, NC. 

Roy was born September 25, 1953 in Harnett County to the late Willie Ralph Wilkins and Annie Bell Stone Wilkins.  He was the youngest of four sons graduating from Lillington High School.  Roy worked in many capacities as a painter, and auto parts counters.  He never met a stranger and was loved by all.    

He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Henry, Jimmy and Ralph Wilkins.

Roy is survived by his wife of 24 years, Donna Hughes Wilkins; children of his heart, April Stancil (Daniel), B.J. Matthews (Danielle), Brandy Bertram (Darren); brother in law, Willie Hughes (Nancy), nieces and nephews, Lisa Yarborough, Teresa English (Layne), John Wilkins (Shannon), Jay Wilkins (Nancy), Billy Wilkins (Melissa), and Kenny Thompson (Lisa); and sister-in-law, Betty Wilkins.  He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Jay (Aly), Courtney (Thomas), Tyler, Raiden, Isaiah, Alana, Madison, Nathan, Aeden, and Faith; and two great grandsons, Oliver, and Carter.  As well as many great nieces, nephews and friends. 

A funeral service will be held 2pm Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 1310 S. Main St., Lillington, NC 27546 with Rev. Robbie O’Quinn officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Harnett Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends 6pm – 8pm Monday, May 15, 2023 at the funeral home. 

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
