Roy Vernon McNeill

Roy Vernon McNeill, 78, of Lillington, passed away, Monday, June 9, 2025 at his home in Lillington, NC.  

Roy was born on June 19, 1946 in Harnett County, NC to the late Cleve and Ruth Byrd McNeill. 

He started out early in life farming and then went on to work as a material handler for several years. Roy loved his family and was excited about being a great grandpa.  He had a giving heart and will be missed by all that knew him and loved him. 

He was preceded in death by his brother, James L. McNeill; and grandson, Jhonathan McNeill. 

Roy is survived by his daughters, Sharon L. McNeill, and Charlene R. Beeson (Steven); sons, Cary D. McNeill, and Christopher J. McNeill; sisters, Judy Angel (Bob), Janet Black (Gary), and Jean Patterson (Danny); grandson, Alex McNeill (Dulce); and great-grandson, Mateo.

A funeral service will be held 2pm Thursday, June 12, 2025 at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 1310 S. Main St., Lillington, NC 27546.  Burial will follow the service at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 1pm – 1:45pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
