Ronney Lewis Yarborough

Mr. Ronney Lewis Yarborough, 78, of Broadway, passed away on January 10, 2025, at First Health Hospice House. He was the son of the late Lewis and Francis Yarborough. In addition to his parents Ronney was preceded in death by his sister Patricia Shotwell.

Ronney graduated from Boone Trail School. He worked as a truck driver his whole career retiring in 2012 from Food Lion. Ronney received his pilot’s license in 1987. Ronney and his friend, John Ogburn, restored a 1946 Taylorcraft and enjoyed flying it. He was an avid fisherman his whole life. Ronney loved going to play golf with his friends. He loved to play the guitar and was in a band in his early years. Ronney and his sons enjoyed dirt track racing.

Ronney is survived by his wife Dolly Yarborough of 40 years; and beloved dog, Buster; Sons, Ronney Yarborough Jr and wife Connie of Cameron, NC, Scott Yarborough and wife Jammie of Dinwiddie, VA; Grandchildren, Michael Cissell and wife Teja of Abu Dhabi, UAE, Colby Yarborough of Maysville, KY, Brooke Kiger and husband Tristan of Cameron, NC, Chyann Yarborough of Cameron, NC, Nichole King of Lees Summit, MO; great-grandchildren, Cade Kiger and Reese King; and niece Suzanne Shotwell.

Per Ronney’s wishes, there will not be a public memorial service.
