Robin Elizabeth Montgomery

Robin Elizabeth Montgomery, 40, passed away August 12, 2025.  She was born July 25, 1985 in Stoughton, Massachusetts to James and Debra (Acker) Montgomery.  Robin is preceded in death by grandparents, Kenneth Acker, Charles Leonard, and Robert Montgomery; and uncle, Alan Montgomery.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her life partner, Maurice Hunter; son, Jayce Hunter; grandparents, Margaret Acker, Priscilla Acker, and Viriginia Leonard; brothers, Andrew Montgomery, Matthew Montgomery, and Gregory Montgomery; aunts and uncles, Brenda (Acker) Corrigan, Sean Corrigan, John Acker, Michael Acker, Kevin Acker, Melissa Acker, Pam and Paul Bartolomeo, Jay and Andrea LaFrance, and Kim Sanchez; nephews, Vincent Montgomery, Nathan Montgomery, and Aaron Montgomery.

After receiving her associate’s degree in early childhood education, Robin worked 15 years in childcare.  She trained as an RMA and phlebotomist and worked briefly in that field before returning to her first love of working with children.  At the time of her passing, she was preparing to begin her second year of serving the children in the exceptional children’s program at Highland Elementary School.  Robin will be greatly missed and forever loved by those that knew her.

A celebration of life gathering will be held from 10am to noon on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home, 1310 S. Main Street, Lillington, NC.  Family and friends are encouraged to honor Robin by wearing her favorite color (purple) or Batman, Stitch, Dolphins or Autism attire.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in honor of Robin to the Adult Congenital Heart Association.
