Ms. Roberta Marie Womble, 77, of Lillington passed away surrounded by her family on May 24, 2021 at Central Harnett Hospital. She was born in Granville County, the daughter of the late Robert Dorsey and Wilma Badgett Womble. Roberta battled paranoid schizophrenia throughout her life. She was a beautiful soul that loved all people. Roberta was a kind, loving unique individual. She loved her family. The front porch was her place of refuge, where she visited with family, friends and any animal or insect that would cross her path. Roberta never complained about her physical and mental condition and was happy most of the time. She loved Elvis, Cher, Blackbeard and listening to her favorite song, “A Few Good Men” by the Gaithers.
Roberta is survived by son, Jesse Womble Jones (Sue Tillery) of Raleigh, son, Burt Warren Jones (Heather) of Lillington, daughter, Kimberly Rose Jones of Banner Elk, son, George Robert “Rob” Jones of Lillington; 8 grandchildren, Christopher Blacka, Evie Blacka, Blake Jones, Bennett Jones, Currin Jones, Will Jones, Michala Jones and Eva Gray Jones; 2 brothers, Robert “Bobby” Womble (Martha) of Buies Creek, George Earl Womble (Becky) of Buies Creek; caregiver, Jackie Woods.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 28, 2021 at Westview Cemetery in Lillington with Rev. Mark Morris officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
In accordance with current North Carolina COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home requests that everyone in attendance practice social distancing and wear a face covering.
