Robert Elton West

Robert Elton West, 79, of Lillington, passed away, Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at his home.

Robert was born June 2, 1943 in Harnett County to the late Elton West and Lula Stewart West.  He was a graduate of Coats High School and attended Campbell University.  Robert was a telephone technician with Carolina Telephone, retiring with over 40 years of service.  He was a member of the Summerville Fire Department where he served on the board of directors and as a fireman.  Robert was a veteran of the NC Army National Guard and a member of Antioch Baptist Church.        

He was preceded in death by his in-laws, Alston and Ora McNeill.

Robert is survived by his wife of 57 years, Peggy McNeill West; sister-in-laws, Lespie O’Quinn (Halford); and Donna Cummings (Johnny).    

A graveside service will be held 2pm Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, 6670 Old US Highway 421, Lillington, NC 27546 with Pastor Rick Beacham officiating.  

Memorials may be made to Antioch Baptist Church.
