Mrs. Rita Ashworth Carroll, 74, of Fuquay-Varina passed away on April 15, 2026. She was born on December 1, 1951, in Wake County, the daughter of the late Lewis Ashworth and Mozelle Reagan Butler.

In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Gene Carroll.

Rita is survived by her daughter, Nancy Carroll Bass and husband Danny; and sisters, Bonnie Young of Lillington, Polly Davis of Fuquay-Varina, and Susie McGhee of Raleigh.

Rita was a talented, kind soul.  She could do anything: crochet, knit, paint, and was especially known for her quilting.  She was a great cook and everyone loved her homemade jelly.  Rita will be greatly missed and forever loved.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at Cokesbury Cemetery 6678 River Road Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
