Rhonda Hughes Stewart

Rhonda Hughes Stewart of Bunnlevel passed away at her home on Monday, October 11, 2021, surrounded by her family and friends. Rhonda was born on August 17, 1958 in Wake County.

Rhonda is survived by her dedicated and loving husband of almost 45 years, Eddie Stewart. She is also survived by her parents, Julia and Jay Webb; daughter Misty Truelove and husband, Barry; daughter, Tracy Howard; son, Kevin Stewart (Denise); and nine beloved grandchildren. She is survived by her brother, Gary Hughes (Barbara), as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who will cherish her forever.

Rhonda’s infectious smile always made you feel better even if all she said was hello. She was a mom, sister, daughter, and friend to almost everyone who met her. Rhonda enjoyed spending time at the beach and being with her grandchildren. She loved to catch bait, make fishing bets, and would “outfish” any man. She would climb a ladder to help her husband put a roof on someone’s house and then come down to make the best home-cooked meal you had ever eaten.

She was very witty and continued to find humor in the hardest situations in life most would complain about. Up until the very end, she was more concerned about everyone else instead of herself and continued to make us laugh.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Chapel in Lillington with Rev. Buster West and Rev. Eddie Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Angier. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 11:00 AM- 12:45 PM and other times at the home of her parents, Julia and Jay Webb.

In accordance with current North Carolina COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home requests that everyone in attendance practice social distancing and wear a face covering.
