Rhonda Diane Herring Wilkes, 61, of Raleigh, passed away, Sunday, February 4, 2024.

Rhonda was born March 11, 1962 in Wake County, NC to the late Earl Edward Herring and Pauline Mae O’Bar Herring. 

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Dayton Herring and Henry Herring.

Rhonda is survived by her son, Nathan Al Wilkes; daughter, Nathalie Alise Wilkes; sister, Cindy Hayes; brothers, Dave Herring, and Gene Herring; and former spouse, Al Wilkes, Jr.

Everyone who knew Rhonda was touched by her kindness and her giving spirit. She was a hard-working woman who took pride in cleaning houses in the Harnett County area for over 40 years. She always put her family and friends first. When she did relax, she could be found gardening and caring for her dogs, or perhaps watching a Christmas movie during any month of the year. Her wisdom and wit will be missed by all.

Rhonda will be interred in Olive Branch Cemetery in Kipling, NC in a private ceremony on February 17th, 2024.  She will rest alongside her mother, father, and brother near her hometown.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests memorials may be donated to the Wake County Animal Shelter.
