Paul Bryce Putnam

Mr. Paul Bryce Putnam, 91, of Broadway passed away Sunday, May 4, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Shelby, NC, the son of the late William Conley and Shellie Thomas Putnam. Bryce worked as a truck driver for Thomas Farm Service for 35 years, driving over a million miles and Steel & Pipe Corp. for 15 years, retiring at age 70. He loved his cars, NASCAR, and Saturday night go kart racing, along with gardening and mowing his yard. Bryce was faithful long-time member of Holly Springs Baptist Church in Broadway. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and especially his great grandchildren.

Bryce is survived by his wife of 70 years, Jean Harrington Putnam of the home; son, Johnny Putnam and wife Becky of Broadway; daughter, Susan Britt of Broadway; 2 granddaughters, Farrah Holder and husband John of Broadway, Natalie Kelly and husband Kevin of Broadway; 4 great grandchildren, Nathan Holder, Hannah Holder, Bryson Holder and Beckley Kelly and a special niece, Carolyn “Pete” Sloan of Broadway.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Holly Springs Baptist Church in Broadway with Rev. Scott Yow and Rev. Jerry Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the graveside service in the church multipurpose building.
