Palmer Keith Turlington

Palmer Keith Turlington, 75, of Lillington, passed away, Thursday, August 29, 2024 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC. 

Palmer was born April 14, 1949 in Harnett County to the late Gordon Keith Turlington and Ruth Autry Turlington.  He was a graduate of Lillington High School Class of 1967 and a veteran of the US Army.  Palmer worked Century Link Telecommunications, retiring with over 40 years of service.  He was a volunteer fireman with Summerville Fire Department serving the community for over 40 years. 

He was preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Turlington; sister, Rose Purdie White.     

Palmer is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nancy Jo Jones Turlington; sons, Gordon Kevin Turlington and wife, Jennifer, Stacy Lee Turlington and wife, Jennifer, and Joel David Turlington; sisters, Barbara Turlington McKay and husband, Bill, Rita Purdie Flowers, and Robin Purdie Keairnes; brother, Rodney Lynn Turlington and wife, Luann; and six grandchildren, Miranda, Savannah, Austin, Danny, Grant, and River; and two great grandchildren, Spencer, and John Christopher. 

A celebration of life service will be held 4pm Sunday, September 1, 2024 at 50 Turlington Hill Lane, Lillington, NC 27546 with Rev. David Porter and Rev. Keith Fox officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
