Orple Lucille (Wigal) West

Mrs. Orple Lucille West, 85, of Lillington, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 30, 2020.

Lucille was a former secretary with NC Division for Services for the Blind from July 1962 to March 1992.  She was also a volunteer for the Harnett County courthouse and was active in her local church for many, many years.

She was a loving person who was always willing to give of her time and to help you. She will be missed.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at 2 pm in O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Clyde Baber presiding.  The burial will follow in Erwin Memorial Park in Erwin, NC.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond West; and a brother, Sonny Wigal.

Lucille is survived by her three children, Judy Mozingo and husband Ray of Louisburg, Lynn Conatser and husband Josef Gross of Bunnlevel, and Darrell West of Sanford; five grandchildren, Sammy Mozingo and wife Erin, Steve Mozingo and wife Candace, Jennifer Moore, David Cadena and wife Donna, and Michelle Cadena; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; seven siblings, Shirley Memsen, Ed Wigal, Sheldon Wigal, Richard Wigal, Christina Schafer, Joyce Brown and Willie Wigal; and her special ‘adopted’ daughter, Denise Sims.

Friends are invited to stop by the funeral home on Monday, January 4, 2021, from 9 am to 4 pm to pay their respects.  The family will not be in attendance during this time.

Memorials may be made to one’s favorite charity.

In accordance with current North Carolina COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home requests that everyone in attendance practice social distancing and wear a face covering.
