Omer Lee "Junior" Babb, Jr.

Mr. Omer Lee Babb, Jr., 64, of Greensboro, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2020.

Junior was born August 15, 1955, in Lee County to the late Omer Lee, Sr. and Berla O’Quinn Babb.  An avid church member in McLeansville, NC during the majority of his life as he lived with his devoted sister, brother-in-law, and their son, Louise, Eugene and Vadran Bullard.  Many thanks to the community and members of McLeansville Baptist Church for allowing Junior to be active in the youth and young adult groups, as well as a member of the choir.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at 2 pm in Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Pat Simpson and Rev. Rick Beacham presiding. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Louise Bullard, Laura Leaird, Clinton Babb and Pamela Sykes; brothers-in-law, Eugene Bullard and Halford Allen; and nephews, Vadran Bullard and Phillip Fields, Jr.

Junior is survived by his siblings, Genease (Phillip) Fields of Sanford, Charles (Sylvia) Babb of Lillington, Ellen Allen of Cameron; in-laws, Van Leaird of Lillington, Janet Babb of Broadway and Ernest Sykes of Lillington; ten nieces and nephews; and special friends, the families of J.C. and Hulda Campbell and Juanita Moore of McLeansville.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 12:30 pm to 1:45 pm in the church’s Sanctuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or Bereavement Fund.
