Norman Patterson Obituary

Norman Patterson, age 71, passed away on Thursday, March 17th at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Harnett County, son of the late Johnnie C. Patterson and Rosie T. Patterson. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Lee Mar Patterson and sister Johnsie Lee Patterson.

Norman attended Boone Trail School and was a talented basketball player. After high school he proudly served in the Armed Forces of the United States Army. He worked at Champion Mobile Homes and Redman Mobile Homes in his early years and retired from Trion Corporation as the VP of Manufacturing after 28 years. After retirement, he was co-owner of Patterson Paving for 10 years before completely retiring to enjoy his passions. He was very dedicated to his work and family and enjoyed them both very much. He loved spending time at his beach home, going fishing, and using his handyman skills to help others and fix whatever needed fixing. He had a passion for golf and enjoyed playing with all his golf buddies and bringing them his homemade breakfast sandwiches when he could. Norman loved his family and spending time with his 5 grandchildren which brought him so much joy.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years Rebecca (Becky) Patterson, daughter Norma P. O’Quinn and husband David of Lillington, NC, daughter Amy P. Wilson of Broadway, NC and grandchildren Lisa, Daniel, Laura and Lacy O’Quinn of Lillington, NC and Luke Wilson of Broadway, NC; niece, 2 nephews, 3 great nieces, 3 great nephews and many cousins. 

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday March 20, 2022, at Holly Springs Baptist Church in Broadway with Rev. Scott Yow and Rev. Jerry Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the graveside service at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holly Springs Baptist Church or Liberty Home Health & Hospice.
