Mrs. Norma Devinney Callahan, 89, of Buies Creek, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, December 18, 2020.
Norma was born in Shelby, NC to the late Arlo and Oneida Devinney. She worked at Wake Forest University prior to she and her husband Max, moving to Keith Hills in Buies Creek in 1978.
Norma loved to be with her family. She enjoyed playing golf, was a member of the Women’s Club, Homemakers Club, and Garden Club. She was a founding member of Grace Community Church where she served on many committees but had a special love for working in the nursery. The greatest loves in her life were her family, her church and primarily Jesus. She was a true Christian woman, wife and mother until the Lord called her home.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at 2 pm at Buies Creek Cemetery with Pastor Brad Talley presiding.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Max; and sister, Bernice Cobb.
She is survived by son, Marc Callahan and wife Dail, of Winston-Salem; daughter, Marsha Callahan Long and husband Bob, of Angier; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and brother, Allen Devinney of Tennessee.
