Nathaniel Eady

Nathaniel Eady, 90, passed away at home with his daughter in Lillington on November 19, 2023. He was born September 30, 1933, to the late Hester Ross and Goerge Eady in Charleston, SC. He was married to the late Louise Cabbagestalk Eady.

Nathaniel attended public school in Charleston, SC and at 17 years of age, enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He served a few years before migrating to Newark, NJ. He worked as a foreman at Leslie Paper Company for many years before the company moved to Florida. He moved on to Remco where he met his wife, Louise. Nate then worked briefly with the railroad and then worked and retired from St. Michaels Hospital.

Nathaniel was always an honest, patient, and loving man. Some people called him Nate and others the “Big Macroona.” He would always say “I Love You” before departing or getting off the telephone. His favorite was giving you the “thumbs up.” He loved his Buicks, Chryslers, bowling, and beer.

Nathaniel started slowing down in 2017. A decision was made by his daughters to move him so he would not be alone. He moved to NC to live with his youngest daughter, Trina’. After turning 90, Nathaniel repeatedly said “I’m tired, this 90-year-old man is old.” Through it all he kept his huge appetite and still said every day, “I Love You”, “Thank You” and he spoke to his wife. He will be missed but never forgotten. Nathaniel Eady was a man amongst men.

Nathaniel is survived by his 2 daughters, Tauheedah Eady of Ghana, Africa and Trina’ Eady of Lillington, NC, special niece, Cheryl D. Hill, host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Westview Cemetery in Lillington.
