Michael Robertson, Sr.

Mr. Michael Robertson, Sr., 75, of Sanford passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at his home. He was born in Scotland County, NC, the son of the late Thomas and Martha Robertson. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Steve Robertson. Mike was the epitome of a professional law enforcement officer. He worked for over 51 years in law enforcement serving the citizens of N.C. in numerous county and state agencies. Mike was a member of Northwood Temple Church in Fayetteville. Mike was the proud recipient of The Order of the Long Leaf Pine on 3 different occasions. He also received numerous other service awards including The Old North State Award. Mike loved watching old western movies, cooking, and grilling.

Mike is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary Robertson of the home; son, Michael Robertson, Jr. of the home; son, Chris Robertson of Wilmington; daughter, Tammy Robertson of Wilmington; son, Eric Sibbach and wife Heather of Sanford; five grandchildren, Erika Sibbach, Jack Medwedeff, Emma Medwedeff, Lily Robertson, Sophia Robertson; brother, Billy Robertson and wife Beth of Hendersonville, NC; many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 26, 2024, at Northwood Temple Church in Fayetteville.
