Melvin Ray Moore

Melvin Ray Moore, 73, passed away Friday, November 8, 2024 at his home in Broadway, NC.  He was born January 25, 1951 to Milton Moore, Jr. and Thadean Moore.

He was preceded in death by his father, Milton Moore, Jr.; and niece, Elizabeth Snow.

Ray is survived by his wife, Beverly Moore; mother, Thadean Moore; sisters, Sandra Diane Moore, Donna Hooper (James), and Karen Farr (Chris); step-sons, Michael Haymore (Tanya), Tommy Haymore (Sabrina), and Johnny Haymore (Christine); 12 step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved basset hound, Fred.

Ray had a deep faith in Christ and was a lifelong member of Union Methodist Church. He was very active with his Brothers in Christ (BIC) and was a faithful member and church worker.  In his spare time, Ray enjoyed classic cars and riding his motorcycle.  One of his fondest memories was when he took his mom out for a spin on his motorcycle when she was in her eighties.

The family will receive friends at Union Methodist Church, 2212 Nursery Rd, Lillington, NC 27546 on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 from 1:00pm – 2:00pm with the funeral service beginning at 2:00pm. The graveside service will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made in Ray’s honor to Union Methodist Church.
