Melina Aiko Smith Obituary

Melina Aiko Smith, 21, of Bunnlevel, passed away, Friday, November 10, 2023 at her home in Bunnlevel, NC. 

Melina was born January 6, 2002 in Cumberland County, NC.  She was a graduate of Western Harnett High School and attended Wake Technical Community College and Fayetteville Technical Community College, where she pursued a degree in nursing.  Melina was a talented pianist and graphic designer using her artistic abilities to the fullest.  She loved animals of all kinds.  Melina was young, but she lived a full life and was wise beyond her years.         

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, James Richard Reeves. 

Melina is survived by her parents, Gene and Michele Smith; brother, Lathan Smith of Ramstein Air Base, Germany; grandparents, Mary and John Longbottom of Etowah, NC, Bud and Jackie Smith of Rome, GA.     

A memorial service will be held 3pm Saturday, November 18, 2023 at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 1310 S. Main St., Lillington, NC 27546.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service. 

Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
