Max Ronald McCauley, Sr.

Max R. McCauley, Sr., 78, of Lillington passed away Sunday, November 10, 2024.  He was born October 31, 1946 to the late William McCauley and Earlene Harper.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Elizabeth Ann McCauley.

Max is survived by his son, Max Ronald McCauley, Jr.; his daughters, Pam Chastain (Fred) and Lynn Richardson;  grandchildren, Joshua Aaron Chastain, Morgan Chastain, and Nolan Wester; brother, Tommy McCauley of Virginia; sisters, Phyllis Thomas (Manly) of Cameron, NC, Karen Thompson of Florida, Laurie McCauley Holland of Sanford, NC, and Paige Burgess (Dean) of Sanford, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

Max was a longtime employee of the grocery industry as a butcher.  He enjoyed classic cars, farming, and farm equipment.  He loved Westerns, especially the Duke (John Wayne).  He was a loving father and grandfather and was especially proud of his grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home, 1310 S. Main Street, Lillington, NC 27546.  A private service will be held at a later date.
