Mary Frances Senter Kear

Mary Frances Senter Kear of Boonville passed away at home among family after a long illness on Thursday, September 22. She was born in Lillington on April 18, 1945 to the late John Aaron Senter and Vida Lee Peed Senter. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lydia Senter (Donald) Langdon. Mary Frances graduated from Lillington High School and attended Meredith College. She devoted most of her life to raising her children, restoring antique furniture and the old homes she had in Pennsylvania, Connecticut and, for the last 25 years, Boonville, NC. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, collecting giraffes and was never without her dogs.

Fran is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jim, son James (Shannon) Kear III of Bethel, CT, daughter Kathryn Kear of Rural Hall, NC, and son David (Carol) Kear of Fernandina Beach, FL; four grandchildren, Jamie Kear of Hamden, CT, Joshua Kear and Bethany Kear of Fernandina Beach and Nathaniel Kear of Rural Hall. She leaves three sisters, Ida Carol Wilson of Clinton, Penelope Bethune and Susan (Steve) Worrell of Lillington, and her brother David (Deborah) Senter of Raleigh and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Lillington Baptist Church.
