Margaret Faye Nordan Wester

Mrs. Margaret Faye Nordan Wester, 83, of Lillington passed away Thursday morning, September 1, 2022, at Universal Healthcare. She was the daughter of the late Percy and Esther Mae Nordan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Wester; brothers, Carlie Nordan, Leroy Nordan, Joseph Nordan, Marion “Bill” Nordan, and Donald Nordan; sisters, Mary McMillian and Sarah Lillian Shephard.

Faye grew up in a Christian home off Old Buies Creek Road in Angier. Her parents owned and operated a forty-acre farm, and her father owned a small country store. She learned the value of hard work and could drive a mule and sled by age ten through the fields to help harvest tobacco, corn, and cotton. She loved gardening and all kinds of flowers; her favorite flowers were roses, gladioluses, and gardenias. Faye worked as a USPS mail carrier for thirty years. She thoroughly loved working at the post office, fellowshipping with her co-workers, and serving the Lillington community. In her early years, she was a member of Neill’s Creek Baptist Church and then became a faithful member of Cape Fear Presbyterian Church after her marriage in 1958. She played the piano and sang in the choir for many years. She cherished her family and friends, especially her 1957 Angier High School classmates and their annual reunions.

Faye is survived by her sons, Jeff Wester and wife Darlene of Lillington, Steve Wester and wife Sandra of Fuquay-Varina, and Randy Wester of Lillington; grandchildren, Cody Wester, Gabrielle White and husband Austin White, and Caleb Wester; and many special nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 pm, and the funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm on September 7, 2022, at the Cape Fear Presbyterian Church in Lillington. Burial will be at Harnett Memorial Park in Lillington.
