Marcia Elaine Johnson Ivey

Marcia Elaine Johnson Ivey, 85, of Lillington, NC passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025.  She was born August 19, 1940, in a farmhouse in Harnett County to the late J. Ray Johnson and Mabel Lanier Johnson.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Barbara Anna Lynn Hunt (age 3 ½ years); sister, Nancy Ray Johnson Lasater; grandparents, Joseph Allen Johnson, Maranda Hamilton Johnson, former Harnett County Sheriff James B. Lanier, and Sally Abernathy Lanier.

She graduated from Lillington High School in 1959 and attended Hardbarger Jr. College of Business in Raleigh, NC.  Afterwards she married Roger C. Ivey in 1962.  They had two children, Roger Ray Ivey (wife, Frankie Lynn White Ivey, deceased) and Melody Laine Ivey Butler (husband, Robert Lee Butler).

Marcia is also survived by her grandchildren Marcia Lynn Butler, Johnny Lee Butler, and Robin Marie Butler; great-grandchildren, James Kelly Jr., Nathaniel Lee, Cooper Ernest Taylor, Juliana Alexis, Jayden Alexander, and Carter Paige.

The family will receive friends from 11am – 1 pm, Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home, 1310 S. Main Street, Lillington, NC.  A graveside service will follow at 1:30pm at Harnett Memorial Park with Rev. Roger Moss of Lillington Baptist Church officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the funeral home to assist with final arrangements.
