Lovedy Faye Vann Johnson

Mrs. Lovedy Faye Vann Johnson, 93, of Lillington passed away peacefully at her home Monday, August 16, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born in Harnett County, the daughter of the late Needham Vann and Betty Mae Guy Vann. Lovedy was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Johnson; son, Kevin Johnson; brothers, Percy Vann, Billy Vann; sisters, Lizzie (Boots) Matthews, Ida (Will) Adams, Ruby V. Fish and Marjorie V. Johnson. She was a talented seamstress and worked on the family farm. Lovedy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister dedicated to her family and the Lord. She was an active member of Neill’s Creek Baptist Church in Angier and shared her testimony with anyone who would listen. Lovedy was an avid reader, gardener and cook. She enjoyed going to the beach with family and friends, even at the age of 92 travelling 14 hours to the Florida beaches. Lovedy had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh.

Lovedy is survived by sister, Betty V. Connell of Linden; brother, William “Son” Art Vann of Lillington; daughter-in-law, Melanie Johnson of Lillington; 3 grandchildren, Brandy Roberts and husband Ray of the home, Bradley Johnson and wife Casey of Stedman, Nancy Johnson Lawrence and husband Brett of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; 7 great-grandchildren, Emily, Johnny, Levi, Wyatt, Matilda, Isaac, and Autumn Grace; many loved nieces and nephews and in-laws.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, August 20, 2021 at Neill’s Creek Baptist Church in Angier with Rev. Dr. Chris Turner officiating. The family will receive friends after the service in the church and other times at the home.
