Liselotte "Lilo" Hagendorf Obituary

Liselotte "Lilo" Hagendorf, 92, of Shelburne, Ontario, Canada went to her eternal home on November 6,  2023, at The Village of Winston in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada.  Lilo suffered a stroke in July, 2023 and received excellent treatment at Headwaters Hospital in Orangeville, Ontario.  She returned to her home in mid-August, 2023 and moved to The Village of Winston in October where she enjoyed speaking German with the staff and fellow residents while enjoying her favorite German dishes.  She was blessed with visits and support from family and friends until she quietly and peacefully slipped away and saw the face of God.  Her daughter, Carolyn was with her in July and August, 2023,  and was able to return in November to be with her during her final days.

Lilo was born on December 19, 1930, in Brux, Sudetenland, which became a part of Czechoslovakia as spoils after World War I.  The inhabitants were a large German population who were very successful with most of the countries industrial assets.  Adolf Hitler reunited Sudetenland with Germany in 1938.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Frederick Hochmuth and Frau Doctor Hanzi Foster Hochmuth of Fussen, Germany.  Her sister, Gudrun Hochmuth of Munich, Germany.  Her husband, Klaus Dieter Hagendorf of Dundalk, Ontario, Canada, and son-in-laws Andrew "Connie" Smith of Lillington, NC and John E. Hair, Jr. of Fayetteville, NC.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Mullenax Hair and husband, David E. Hall of Garner, NC.  Her three cats Barn Cat and Felix-Tristan who now reside in Garner, NC and her precious Nora who now resides with her good friend, Patricia Hauk in Canada.  A niece, Giselle Wilkinson of Ajax, Ontario, Canada and a nephew, Roy Huemer of Toronto, Canada.  Special friends Ingrid Mathison of Toronto, Canade, Larry Brian of Dundalk, Canada, Melody Crisp, Peter & Leslie Scott and David Besley of Shelburne, Canada.

In 1955, Lilo immigrated to Canada from Germany.   For many years she was a nurse at Queen Elizabeth's Hospital in Toronto, Canada, and in later years, she and her husband Dieter owned a Cow-Calf operation on Route 2, Dundalk, Canada.  In the summer of 2015, she sold her home farm and moved to Victoria Street in Shelburne where she lived happily until October 2023 when she moved to The Village of Winston in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada.

Repose and cremation services were provided in November 2023 by Dobs & McNair Funeral Home in Orangeville, Ontario, Canada.  A private graveside service and interment will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Harnett Memorial Gardens, Lillington, N.C.  Services provided by O'Quinn-Pebbles-Phillips Funeral Home, Lillington, N.C. with Retired Full Elder the Reverend Bill Altman officiating.   Estate and transportation service to North Carolina provided by friend and Attorney  Douglas J.
