Linwood Earl "Jimbo" Messer

Mr. Linwood Earl “Jimbo” Messer, 72, of Lillington passed away Friday, September 24, 2021 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham. He was born in Harnett County, the son of the late James Alvis and Isabel Stewart Messer. In addition to his parents, Jimbo was preceded in death by his brothers, James “Bunk” Messer, Freddie Mack Messer and James Alvis “Ted” Messer. Jimbo enjoyed smoking, drinking coffee, Baby Ruth’s, fishing, animals and going to singing at church.

Jimbo is survived by brothers, Bobby Messer of Broadway, Wayne Messer of Lillington; sisters, Peggy Terry of Fayetteville, Evelene Hudson of Bunnlevel, Joyce Brantley of Lillington, Gail Williams of Lumber Bridge, Deborah Dunn of Lillington.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at Harnett Memorial Park in Lillington with Pastor James Taylor officiating.

In accordance with current North Carolina COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home requests that everyone in attendance practice social distancing and wear a face covering.
