Mr. Lindsey Carroll Simpson, Sr., 84, of Spring Lake passed away Monday, August 16, 2021, at Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington. He was born in Louisville, KY, the son of the late Lindsey E. Simpson and Mary Lucille McDonald Simpson. In addition to his parents, Lindsey was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Simpson and grandson, Ryan VanHentenryck. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He loved to collect things for resale. Lindsey worked as a butcher and owned a towing service in Indiana for many years. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Christian Church in Greenwood, IN. Lindsey recently retired and moved to North Carolina to be close to his family.
Lindsey is survived by his wife, Laraine Simpson of the home; 2 daughters, Gloria Williams (Jamie) of Ohio and Debbie Scott (Dallas) of Apex; 3 sons, Lindsey C. Simpson, Jr. (Marcyia) of Indiana, Louis VanHentenryck (Robin) of Indiana, Michael VanHentenryck (Christine) of Connecticut; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Tommy Simpson, Jerry Simpson, Joe Simpson all of Indiana; 3 sisters, Rosie Carlton of Michigan, Peggy Olmstead of Indiana, Linda Simpson of Kentucky; many nieces and nephews.
