Mrs. Laura Katrina Rogers, 59, of Lillington passed away May 6, 2026. She was born in Lee County, the daughter of the late Ruth Langley Hurley. In addition to her mother, Katrina was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Rogers; 2 brothers, Frederick J. Coggins, Allyn Coggins, and a sister, Jacqueline Marie Coggins.  

Katrina or “Kat”, as she was known to her friends and loved ones, leaves behind a legacy of warmth and devotion. She was a woman of deep compassion who found her greatest joy in her family, especially her grandchildren.

Katrina’s professional journey reflected her versatile nature. After years in personal finance, she spent her later life as a dedicated caregiver for the elderly, providing comfort to those in need. Her kindness wasn't reserved just for people; a lifelong animal lover, she cared for a colorful variety of pets over the years from dogs and cats to reptiles, birds and even goats.

She was happiest by the water—whether on a boat, at the beach, or by the pool. A woman of many interests, she loved shopping, watching her favorite movies and tv shows, and was an enthusiastic collector of Coca-Cola memorabilia. In her later years, she discovered a creative spark in jewelry making, sharing her handmade pieces with those she loved, and even starting her own business venture.

Katrina will be remembered for her nurturing spirit and her love for life's simple pleasures.

Katrina is survived by her son, Matthew Rogers (Candace) of Sanford; daughter, Tonia Ailerson (Kurt) of Sanford; grandchildren, Alexandria Ailerson, Erin Ailerson, and Ruby Rogers; sister, Gladys McInnis of Sanford; nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4:30-5:45 PM Saturday, May 16, 2026, at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home in Lillington. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. James Estes officiating.
