LaVerne P. Wright

Mrs. LaVerne P. Wright, 74, of Broadway died Tuesday, August 29th, 2023, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.

LaVerne was born in Lee County to the late Madison Cleo Patterson and Jessie Belle Gillis Patterson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Leamon Travis Patterson and Madison Delbert Patterson. LaVerne was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church where she served meals to the PrimeTimers and to the congregation on Wednesday evening before the church service. She was also active in other outreach in the community such as Meals on Wheels, auctions, and bazaars. LaVerne shared her loving home preparing meals and gatherings for family and friends frequently.

LaVerne is survived by her husband, Gaither Gene Wright of the home; son, Robert Alton Wright and wife Cindy Rose Wright of Broadway; daughter, Lora Jean Wilson and husband Bradley M. Wilson of Sanford; son, Andrew Gaither Wright of Cornersville, TN; 4 grandchildren, Isaiah James Marion, Savannah Grace Wright, Joshua Gaither Wright, Riley M. Wilson; brother Larry Dale Patterson and wife Deborah Patterson of Broadway; and sister Janice Patterson Thomas and husband Danny Thomas of Lillington.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 1, 2023, from 11:00 to 11:45 AM at Holly Springs Baptist Church in the multipurpose building behind the church. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon in the church sanctuary with Rev. Scott Yow and Rev. Jerry Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
