With profound sorrow, the family of Kristy Collins Snead, 54, of Coats, shares that she was called home to the Lord on November 15, 2025. She left this earth exactly the way she lived in it; surrounded by love and faith, and held close by her husband and children.
Kristy had a kind heart and a shining spirit. She spent many years as a devoted preschool teacher, pouring joy and genuine love into every child who entered her classroom. Students adored her, and parents trusted her. Kristy didn’t just teach children; she nurtured them, prayed over them, and believed in who they could become. Her gentle kindness changed lives in ways that will stay for generations.
Nothing brought her more peace and joy than the moments spent outdoors with her husband and faithful companion in every adventure, John Snead. Whether they were sitting together in a deer stand or bass fishing on the boat, they were happiest just being together.
Kristy is survived by her Husband, John Snead, children, Luke and Stephen Aguilar; her stepchildren, Mikayla, Lauren, and Wyland Snead, her grandsons, Hayden and Reece Aguilar, her siblings, Nikki Oaks, Samuel Collins, Joseph Collins and Tammy Collins. Kristy is also survived by her loving father, John Collins.
Kristy is preceded in death by her loving mother, Gwendolyn Collins, and her son, Joseph Samuel Aguilar.
What made Kristy unforgettable wasn’t just her faith or her kindness. She made people feel safe, welcomed, and loved. She had a smile so bright that it was contagious. She lived to help others, to bring joy, and to spread the word of God.
Those who knew Kristy will forever remember her as sunshine in human form. She loved God deeply, lived fully, and never passed up a chance to head outside and find the next adventure.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the promise that Kristy is now fully healed and fully at peace in the presence of her Savior. We look forward to the day when we will see her again.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home in Lillington. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 19, 2025 in the funeral home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Greg Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in Fellowship Community Cemetery in Angier.
