Kimberly Ann Thornton, 43, passed away on Friday, August 27th 2021 at Central Harnett Hospital following a long battle with Covid-19.
Kimberly was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina on August 11th, 1978 at Cape Fear Valley Hospital to Lorie W. O’Branovich and Steven E. Tew. Alongside her parents she is survived by her husband, Clarence W. Thornton III, her two daughters Brittany L. Tew and Aleigha N. Thornton, her granddaughter, Noelle K. Smith, her siblings Ronald B. Pridgen, Jessica L. Pridgen and Danielle Register, her grandmother Sue C. Jones, her step father, Bruce M. O'Branovich, her step siblings and many aunts, uncles and friends who loved her dearly.
Kimberly was loved by many, and she is most remembered for her outspoken personality and her love for her family. She worked at Sandy Ridge Childcare for many years and left a lasting impact on many of her babies and their parents. She most enjoyed watching movies and spending time with her granddaughter who is the center of her world.
Kimberly was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend and will be missed and mourned by many.
Kimberly’s family will be holding a service for her on September 2nd, 2021, at Friendship Baptist Church located at 6778 Hwy 401S Bunnlevel, NC 28323 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow the service at Lafayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville.
In lieu of flowers, Kimberly’s family will be accepting direct donations to O’Quinn, Peebles & Phillips Funeral home to help with funeral expenses and in Kimberly’s memory.
In accordance with current North Carolina COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home requests that everyone in attendance practice social distancing and wear a face covering.
