Kenneth Christopher "Chris" Carwell

Kenneth “Chris” Christopher Carwell, 53, of Fuquay Varina, NC, passed away January 30, 2026. Born May 1, 1972, in Raleigh, NC to the late Gary Carwell and Shirley Gaskins Carwell.  Chris was a native of Garner, NC but had called Harnett County his home for the past 10 years.  Chris is survived by his wife Leslie; son Emmitt; brothers Ronnie (Vickie), Mike (Lynn); brother-in-laws Paul Eudy Jr., Jeff Eudy (Donna), Stan Eudy (Sheila); nieces/nephews, Josh, Lauren, Caleb, Summer, Brandon, Travis, as well as great nephews/nieces Phillip, Jadie, Indie, Landon, and Kayley.

He was employed with Enbridge Gas NC (previously Public Service Company of NC, Inc) as a Crew Leader and worked for over 30 years in the natural gas industry.  While there he was involved with Union ICWUC Local-297C and in the past served as an officer and shop steward.

He loved living on his farm with plenty of his chickens for company. Chris was always doing work in his old farmhouse or working on some project. Chris enjoyed the outdoors and loved spending his vacations camping at local spots with his family. He also had a soft spot in his heart for all his rescue/adopted animals. He will be greatly missed by his family, coworkers and friends.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:45 PM Saturday, February 7, 2026, at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home & Crematory.  A celebration of Chris will follow at 4:00 PM in the funeral home Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Northwest Harnett Volunteer Fire Department, 6015 Christian Light Rd, Fuquay Varina, NC 27526.
