Kathryn Barclay Obituary

Mrs. Kathryn (Walker) Barclay, 46, of Lillington, North Carolina passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She was born October 6, 1971 in Newark, Ohio. She is the daughter of the late Ronald Walker and Valerie Warnock. Kathryn was a graduate of Newark High School, had a BSN from Jacksonville University, and a BA from The Ohio State University. Kathryn was a very dedicated pediatric nurse who loved her job; she worked at several local hospitals and most recently at Womack Army Medical Center. She loved reading and baking with her daughter Ginger, cooking, and helping her husband Mark in the garden. She was a devoted military wife who worked generously with other wives to send packages to their husbands stationed in Iraq.

Kathryn is survived by her loving husband of 22 years, SFC Mark Barclay (Retired) US Army, her daughter, Ginger Barclay, her mother, Valerie Warnock, of Ohio, her grandmother, Marjorie Warnock (Nana) of Ohio, her 2 sisters, Robyn Stewart of Texas and Amy Walker of Ohio, and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Kathryn was preceded in death by her sister, Hope Mauller.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Brucker & Kishler Funeral Home in Newark, Ohio with Pastor Kris Santiago and Associate Pastor John Girard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Harnett Memorial Park in Lillington, North Carolina with Reverend Kevin Gregory. The family will receive friends after the service at the Ministry House on Campbell University from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM.
