Karen Wicker Bryant

Mrs. Karen Wicker Bryant, 63, of Broadway passed away Friday, April 1, 2022, at her home. She was born in Cumberland County, the daughter of the late George and Lois Bordeaux Wicker. Karen was a devoted wife and mother who always put her family first. She was kind to everyone and never met a stranger. Karen always thought of other people’s needs and concerns. She was a lover of animals and a great sense of humor. Karen enjoyed making all types of crafts and her gardens. She spent as much time at the beach as time would allow with friends. The beach was her place of refuge and recharging.

Karen is survived by her husband of 41 years, Jerry “Bear” Bryant of the home; 2 sons, Adam Bryant of the home; Kyle Bryant and wife Jessica of Papillion, NE; the apple of her eye granddaughter, Olivia Bryant; sister, Kathy Wicker Bobbitt and husband Herb of Wilmington; special nephew, Noah Enquist; sisters-in-law, Alice Bryant of Sanford, Clara Sellers of Mamers; nieces and nephews; sister by choice, Kim Brown Thomas of Broadway.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM- 12:45 PM Wednesday April 6, 2022, at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 PM at Westview Cemetery in Lillington with Connie Arnold officiating.
