Julia "Judy" L. Hamilton

Mrs. Julia “Judy” L. Hamilton, 79, of Spring Lake passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Emporia, VA, the daughter of the late Charles and Eloise Wenk. In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Hamilton; brother, Charles Wenk, Jr.; sisters, Patricia Collins, Dorothy Wenk and son-in-law, Darrell Frye.

Judy enjoyed family, friends and reading. She was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served as an Army wife. Judy worked and retired from Civil Service with over 25 years of service.

Judy is survived by her daughter, Theresa Frye of New Smyrna Beach, FL; son, Glenn Paul Hamilton and wife, JoAnn of Sanford; two grandsons, Paul Frye and wife Becky of Leesburg, VA, Matthew Frye of New Smyrna Beach, FL; two great grandchildren, Noah and Henry Frye; sister, Mary Ellen Mears and husband Carl of Dover, DE; brother, Robert Wenk and wife Diane of Greensboro, MD; nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Monday, April 24, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 PM at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, April 25, 2023, in the funeral home chapel. A burial will follow in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.
