Joyce Holland Johnson

Mrs. Joyce Holland Johnson, 95, of Fuquay-Varina passed away Thursday, February 2, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Harnett County, the daughter of the late A.B. Holland and Maude Womack Holland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, M. Edward Johnson ; son, Cecil S. Johnson; sister, Shirley Sharp and a brother, Winston Holland. Joyce was a wonderful Christian mother who loved her family dearly. She was a faithful servant of God in all she did. Joyce also enjoyed working in her yard and caring for her pets.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Matthews and husband, Halford of Fuquay-Varina; daughter-in-law, Annette Johnson of Fuquay-Varina; 3 grandchildren, Shannon Matthews, Jason Matthews and wife Adrienne, Scotty Johnson; 6 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; 2 nephews and a niece.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, February 6, 2023, at Baptist Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Paul Jones and Pastor George Smith officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
