Mr. Joseph Wray “Jody” Dickens, 49, of Lillington, passed away on December 5, 2020.
Jody was born June 9, 1971 in Lee County to the late Wray Gene and Carol Atkins Dickens. He graduated from Western Harnett High School class of 1989. He was currently working with S.T. Wooten Corp as a heavy equipment operator.
Jody was the brightest personality in the room. He would do everything in his power for you. Jody loved with every fiber of his being whether he knew you for his whole life or if he had just met you! It’s why he was married three times. There was nothing more important to him than Jesus and family and when he considered you family you knew it! Everyone who knew him will miss him terribly.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 3 pm at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joshua Dickens and Pastor Raeford McLeod presiding.
Jody is survived by his two children, Joseph “Zac” Dickens and Morgan Dickens; five grandchildren, Jax, Avana, Jace, Marlei and MacKenlei; four siblings, Denise Dickens, Ruben “Jimmy” Dickens, Teresa Sandrock and Adam Dickens; fiancé, Stephanie Thomas; and “his brothers from another mother”, Tim and Connie Marion.
Friends are welcome to visit the funeral home on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, from 9 am to 2 pm to pay their respects to Jody. The family will not be in attendance during this time.
In accordance with current North Carolina COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home requests that everyone in attendance practice social distancing and wear a face covering.
